Libby Mitchell - Fetch! Pet Care

Libby Mitchell
From the moment she rescued her first bird, Libby Mitchell knew she would work with animals throughout her life. Her college career spanned states as she traveled for work from majoring in marine biology, she attended Salem State College outside of Boston to range management at University of Idaho and then environmental science at Millersville University where she rescued animals for a local organization.
Her dream of helping animals took a backseat for a number of years while Libby worked jobs in the corporate worlds of technology, media, and finance while raising children as a single mom. Marriage and another child developed the need even more to stay in the corporate world.
In the early months of 2006, following the death of her beloved father, Libby stepped back and re-evaluated her life. Within 18 months, she had started a consulting company, became caregiver for her mother, and was able to spend more time with her family. But she missed working with animals. In 2009, she found a franchise called Fetch Pet Care and found there were openings in the NE Dallas area. Fetch enabled her to take care of animals on a full time basis looking after others animals. Then it snowballed.
A mutual friend introduced her to Lori Birdsong, a strong compelling woman with a soft heart for animals. What Lori had accomplished in a matter of years was astonishing. "Providing Comfort to Animals" is her motto and Libby began working and helping her with various tasks and events. In the summer of 2009, Libby began working with another group for the adoption of animals heading to the gas chamber in Garland and by winter began working rescue runs to get animals both in Texas and from other states to their foster or forever homes.
"Linens for Animals is an organization I can be proud to work together with to help local rescue groups bring what they need and help Lori to get her linens to organizations needing them."
